The high Sierra Mountains provide habitat for many birds. Species that can be found in the Sierras include Warblers, Tundra Swans, hawks, owls, ducks, bluebirds, vireos, Summer Tanagers, and Indigo Buntings.
Bodega Bay, in Sonoma County is a good place to view a variety of shorebirds. Migrating shorebirds arrive in late summer and migratory land birds pass through the area in the fall.
